SCOPE: The Greene Line Collection traces the development of Green Line Steamers Incorporated, as well as its antecedent and related companies through correspondence, financial documentation, business records, newspaper clippings, photographs, blueprints and memorabilia. The years covered by the collection are the 1920s through the 1950s.


The materials in the collection date from the 1920s to the early 1960s. The collection consists of 30 half-size record boxes and four oversized boxes, totaling about 18 linear feet.


In addition, the collection boasts a sizeable amount of documentation and blueprints covering the U.S. Lighthouse Tender Wakerobin, a vessel that was of personal interest to the previous collector of the Greene Line Collection. When the Greene Line Collection was acquired, the materials regarding the Wakerobin were included. The Wakerobin materials consist of correspondence, operational records, and blueprints pertaining to the vessel from the 1920s through the 1950s.


HOLDINGS: Approximately 18 linear feet of archival records including correspondence, blueprints, photographs, business and financial records, and publications.
